There’s one plan.It’s free.
No Pro, no Team, no “contact sales”. Everyone gets the whole of sendm8. What there is instead is a short, honest list of fair-use limits, because the email and storage we run on are shared by everyone.

02 Fair use
The small print,
in large print.
Free doesn’t mean bottomless. sendm8 runs on free allowances that everyone shares, so there are four limits. Here’s each one, why it’s there, and exactly what happens if you reach it.
No surprise bills, no features that quietly switch off, no “upgrade to continue”. There’s nothing to upgrade to.
Clause 2.1
10instant emails a day
Through our shared sender, per account
Why it’s there
Sending email costs real money, even when it isn’t ours. Our sender runs on a small free allowance from our email providers, and every sendm8 user shares it. The daily cap stops one busy form from spending everybody else’s postage.
When you reach it
Digest, not droppedNothing is lost. After instant email number 10, the rest of the day’s submissions arrive together in your 6pm UTC digest. Your dashboard, Discord, Slack, Telegram and webhooks still get every one, instantly.
Add your own Resend key and the cap goes away.Clause 2.2
1,000submissions a month
Per form, per calendar month
Why it’s there
Every submission is a row in a database on Cloudflare’s free plan, which has a daily write budget for the whole service. The monthly cap keeps one runaway form, or one determined bot, from filling it for everyone.
When you reach it
RejectedWe’d rather be straight with you: once a form reaches the cap, new submissions that month are turned away, not queued. Your visitor sees a clear error (JSON forms get a 429 with a message), so they know it didn’t go through. The count resets on the 1st.
Need more? Self-host sendm8 with no cap, or tell us about it at hello@sendm8.com.Clause 2.3
5 MBper file
And 10 MB across one submission
Why it’s there
Uploaded files live in storage with a fixed free budget. The caps fit documents, CVs and screenshots, which is what contact forms are for, and keep the storage from turning into somebody’s video backup.
When you reach it
Turned awayA submission with a file over the limit is refused as a whole (HTTP 413), so nothing half-arrives. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent.
Big files? Ask people for a link to them instead.Clause 2.4
10a minute
Per visitor, per form. 120 a minute per form overall
Why it’s there
Bots post hundreds of times a minute. People don’t. Burst limits stop a flood before it reaches your inbox, and keep sendm8 quick for everyone else. We count by a hash of the IP address, never the address itself.
When you reach it
Slow downExtra posts in that minute get a 429 and a polite “slow down” page. A real person filling in a form never gets anywhere near it.
How the spam layers work
03 Weigh your post
How busy are
your forms?
Tell us roughly how much post you get and we’ll tell you, in plain words, whether you’d reach a limit and what would happen if you did.
You’d go over our sender on busy days.
The first 10 emails each day arrive straight away. The other 6 turn up together in your 6pm UTC digest, so nothing’s lost. Or add your Resend key and forget about it.

Bring your own key,
lose the cap.
Paste a Resend API key into your account and every email notification goes through your Resend account instead of our shared sender. It still costs nothing from us.
Unlimited email notifications
No daily cap from sendm8. Resend’s own plan sets how many you can send, and their free plan is plenty for most sites.
Your own From domain
Notifications come from an address on a domain you’ve verified with Resend, not from us.
Locked away
Encrypted at rest and never shown in full again. Remove it whenever you like.
| Feature | Our sender | Your key |

| Email notifications | 10 a day | No cap from us |

| Past the daily cap | The rest wait for the 6pm UTC digest | There isn’t one |
| Reply-To set to the sender | Yes | Yes |
| If something goes wrong | We retry it for you | Emails wait in your digest and the dashboard tells you. We never quietly switch you to our sender. |
| Cost from sendm8 | 0.00 | 0.00 |
Discord, Slack, Telegram, webhooks and the dashboard inbox never touch the email cap, with or without a key.
05 Enquiries
Fair questions.
The things people ask about anything that says “free”. If yours isn’t here, email hello@sendm8.com and a person will answer.
Q01Right, what’s the catch?
Honestly, the fair-use limits above: 10 instant emails a day through our sender (the rest arrive in a daily digest), up to 100 forms and 1,000 submissions a month per form. That’s it. There’s no paid plan we’re nudging you towards, no branding you pay to remove, and no feature held back for later.
The only thing we ask is that you don’t use it for spam or phishing. We hold forms that ask for passwords or card numbers, and we shut down abuse.
Q02So how do you pay for it?
sendm8 is built to run on Cloudflare’s free plan and free email allowances, which is exactly why the limits exist. The real costs are a domain name and our time.
If it ever outgrows the free plans, Cloudflare’s next step up is a few dollars a month. Donations and sponsors cover that. There are no ads, investors or data deals behind it.
Q03Will you start charging later?
We have no plans to. We won’t pretend nothing can ever change, though: if the free allowances we rely on shrink, the hosted limits might have to shrink with them, and we’d tell you well in advance.
What can’t change is the code. It’s open source under AGPL-3.0, so you can self-host your own copy, free, for as long as you like.
Q04What if sendm8 disappears?
Your submissions export as CSV or JSON whenever you like, and there’s no fee to take them with you.
Your forms don’t need us either. Deploy sendm8 to your own Cloudflare account, change the URL in your form’s action, and carry on. Our field names match Formspree’s, so moving somewhere else entirely is a one-line change too.
Q05Do you sell my data, or my visitors’ data?
No. Not to advertisers, not to “partners”, not to anyone. Submissions are stored so you can read them, delivered where you’ve asked, and that’s all they’re used for.
Spam submissions are deleted automatically after 30 days. When you delete a form or a submission, it’s gone.
Q06Do I need an account?
No. Put your email address in the form’s action URL, confirm the one email we send you, and submissions start arriving. No password, no signup form.
Sign in with GitHub or Google when you want the extras: the dashboard inbox, Discord, Slack, Telegram and webhooks, allowed domains and your own Resend key.
Q07What about GDPR, and where is the data kept?
sendm8 runs on Cloudflare: the code on Workers, submissions in a D1 database and uploaded files in R2 storage. Email goes out through Resend, or through your own Resend account if you add a key.
We never store a visitor’s raw IP address. Rate limits and blocklists use a one-way hash of it instead. You’re the one collecting the data, so mention sendm8 in your privacy notice as the service that receives your form submissions.
If you need the data to stay in a particular place, self-hosting lets you choose your own Cloudflare account and settings.
Q08Can I sponsor it?
Yes please, and thank you. Sponsorship pays for the running costs and gives us time to work on it. You don’t get more limits for it: the plan is the same for everyone, sponsor or not.
Can’t spare money? Reporting bugs, fixing docs and telling a mate about it helps just as much.
