Fair’s fair. What they do well:
- Basin supports reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha and Turnstile, and allows files of up to 100 MB on every plan.
02 When they’re the better pick
Pick Basin instead if…
- You need big uploads: Basin allows files of up to 100 MB on every plan, against sendm8’s 5 MB.
- You want reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha specifically. sendm8 uses Cloudflare Turnstile, plus its own spam scoring and AI check.
- You want a paid service with a support team, and features from its higher tiers, such as signed webhooks on the Agency plan.
03 Switching
Moving from Basin.
Change the action URL. Basin’s _gotcha honeypot works the same way, and your own field names carry over as they are.

</form>- Basin sets the thank-you redirect in its dashboard. On sendm8, add a hidden
_nextfield, or set a redirect URL in Form settings. - If you used Basin’s JavaScript library for AJAX, post with
fetchandAccept: application/jsoninstead, or add sendm8’s helper script with adata-sendm8attribute. - File inputs keep working with
enctype="multipart/form-data", within sendm8’s smaller size limits.
04 Questions people actually ask
Before you switch.

- Until you delete them. Spam is cleared after 30 days, but real submissions stay in your inbox, where you can search and export them.
- Can I redirect visitors to my own thank-you page for free?
- Yes. Add a hidden _next field pointing at a page on your site, or set a redirect URL in the form’s settings.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Put your email address in the form’s URL and confirm it once. Sign in when you want the dashboard, channels and 1,000 submissions a month per form.
